The rush for Australian student visa's trickled down much to the chagrin of some "agents" who were minting money sending unemployed youths to Down Under, ostensibly for education, but with the knowledge that as students they could seek employment in blue collar jobs.
This resulted in a backlash it would seem and Indian taxi drivers found tips being given in the form of insults, abuses and often punches. Those working in late night shifts found themselves being used as punching bags in public transport vehicles. Law enforcement agencies seemed to move very, very slowly...
Now at the end of the Common Wealth Games the issue has risen again as to whether the hostility between the inhabitants of these two countries is a lot more deep rooted.
